1) What is the shelf life of sterilised instruments? 

There is no shelf life on sterilised instruments as long as the recommendations outlined in the standard are followed correctly. 

2) How much does it cost?

Prices vary depending on whether a partial or full service is required and is also based on the type and size of instruments/equipment to be processed with those larger incurring a surcharge. Exact prices are available upon request, however use our 'get a quote' function to get an estimate.   

3) What is the latest time to phone for pick ups?

To order a pick up, Smith Sterilising must be notified no later than 7:30 am the day required although it is recommended to phone anytime prior and leave a message if no one answers. Our message bank is checked regularly.  PLEASE DO NOT SEND TEXT MESSAGES OR EMAILS FOR PICK UPS. 

4) If I choose sterilising option 1 (washing included), do I have to pre clean my instruments before sending them to you?

Yes, according to the sterilising standard, all instruments have to have all protein removed as soon as possible after use. 

 

 

5) If I choose sterilising option 2 (washing excluded), how do I prepare instruments to be sterilised?

It is up to you to wash the instruments you are sending in to be sterilised according to your standard. Smith Sterilising will only guarantee that the sterilising process has been met.  

Smith Sterilising will provide all necessary packaging.
